Demonstration of the LEWA EcoPrime® at NIBRT in Dublin

At the „National Institute for Bioprocessing Research & Training“ (NIBRT) in Dublin, a LEWA EcoPrime chromatography system is installed in a GMP environment until June 6. The capability of the system is demonstrated with simulated production runs.

The NIBRT in Dublin was founded by stakeholders in the Irish government, industry and academia to support and promote the development of biopharmaceutical industry. Tasks of the institute are among others personnel training, laboratory validation and process de-bottlenecking.

From May 19 to June 6, a LEWA EcoPrime chromatography system is installed at this prize-winning institute in a GMP environment. Interested parties can not only view the unit, but also see demonstrations of the software and the main functions of the system. It is shown how to make recipe settings with the editor, and production runs are simulated.

LEWA EcoPrime is successfully at work in the purification of biotechnologically produced active ingredients. The costumer can use the system simultaneously for the dilution of buffers or concentrates, and as chromatography system. Through the implemented drive LEWA intellidrive, which ensures a high turndown ratio, the EcoPrime can replace up to two chromatography units. The linear gradient is adjustable in the range of 1 to 99 %.

Visitors of the NIBRT can view the hardware setup, instrumentation and the capability of the EcoPrime, which will convince them of the product’s quality.
