The awareness for this type of problem needs to be raised early on. Therefore, LEWA, along with other notable partners, supports the UNESCO school project “Fair Future II”. On October 8 and 10, a multimedia presentation in middle and high schools of Leonberg explained the concept of the ecological footprint and visualized the effects of globalization, consumption of resources, and climate change on people in the entire world. In the ensuing discussion, students asked questions and received advice on how to use food and natural resources responsibly.
Under the motto “Think globally – act sustainably”, the educational campaign will continue touring through many cities in Germany and Austria. In the next three years, a total of 500,000 students from 1,000 schools will deal with the question “How do you want to live in the future?”
